00It isn't a wallet app

Most finance apps ask you to do the work: open them, type the number, pick the category, remember to come back. ShahLUX asks for a photograph. Everything after that the store, the date, the twenty-three items, the VAT, which of your cards paid is read, checked and filed without you. What is left is the part only you can do: deciding what it means.

05What it does

Nine things, and none of them are typing

Every one of these works today, on both the bot and the site, in all seventeen languages.

The headline

Photograph a receipt. Get every line of it.

Not the total — every line. Twenty-six items, each with its own price and category, plus the shop, the address, the date, the VAT, which card paid and its last four digits. Dates in an impossible year are caught and corrected rather than filed quietly. You see the whole reading before anything is saved, and can fix any part of it.

17 languages

Including the hard ones

Persian, Arabic and Hebrew right-to-left; Chinese, Korean and Hindi shaped properly. Numbers stay in Latin digits everywhere — mixed numerals in a financial figure are how mistakes get read.

One database

Nothing to sync

The bot and the site are two windows onto the same rows. A category you invent in Telegram is in every picker on the site a second later. There is no sync button because there is nothing to sync.

The earned break

Three days somewhere, paid for by the months you did well

Choose a window and a share. ShahLUX works out what you brought in minus what you spent, caps it at half of what your accounts really hold, then searches the live web for three-day trips that fit — real fares, real rooms, and the pages it found them on. A bad two months produces no suggestion at all, which is the point.

Getting in

Passkeys, and three other ways

Face ID or a fingerprint, an authenticator app, an email code, a text message. Ten recovery codes for when the phone is gone. Connecting Telegram is a six-digit code that lives sixty seconds.

On paper

A report and a receipt album, as PDF

A financial report by month and category, and an A4 album of every receipt photograph with what was read off it. Both printed by your own browser, so every language and script comes out right.

It notices things

It tells you what changed before you go looking

Subscriptions that quietly reached 248 a month. A category running 40% above its usual. A budget about to be passed on the 19th. Written in your language, grounded only in your own numbers — it is told never to invent a figure, and it does not.

Luxembourg

The return, prepared

Deductible spending gathered through the year, sorted into the categories the form asks for, and exported. The shoebox in January becomes one button.

No bank connection

Works where aggregation does not

Nothing is screen-scraped and no bank credentials are ever asked for. A photograph, a voice note or a typed line is enough — which is why it works in countries where open banking simply is not offered.

04One account

Every platform, perfectly in sync.

Log an expense on your phone, check it on Telegram, review it on the web — one account keeps everything identical, everywhere, the instant it changes.

People who stopped typing in receipts

Illustrative voices — composite characters, not real customers

I photographed a supermarket receipt with twenty-six items on it. It got every single one, including the deposit on the bottles. I have stopped checking.
NNadiaRuns a household of five
The bot told me my subscriptions had quietly reached 248 a month. I had guessed eighty. That conversation paid for the year.
MMarcFreelance, allergic to spreadsheets
It writes to me in Persian and the numbers stay in Latin digits, which nothing else does properly. Small thing. It is not a small thing.
SSaraBetween two countries
Two months under budget and it offered me three days in Porto for 230, with the actual flight prices and where it found them.

What we are aiming for

09Questions

The things people actually ask

How does reading a receipt actually work?

You photograph it in Telegram, or upload it on the site. An AI model reads the image — store, address, date, every line item with its own price, the VAT, the payment method, the last four digits of the card. It comes back as a full preview you can correct before anything is saved. Totals that do not add up, and dates in the wrong year, are caught and flagged rather than filed quietly.

Is ShahLUX free?

There is a free tier that covers everyday tracking: transactions, accounts, budgets, categories, and the Telegram bot. The paid tiers add the AI-heavy work — receipt reading at volume, the advisor briefings, the reward trip search, tax export and multi-person households.

Which languages does it speak?

Seventeen: English, Persian, French, German, Arabic, Turkish, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Hindi, Swedish, Danish and Greek. The interface, the bot's replies, the reports and the AI's own writing all follow the language you pick. Digits stay Latin in every one of them, which is deliberate — mixed numerals in a financial figure are how mistakes get read.

Do the Telegram bot and the website really share everything?

They are two windows onto one database. A category you invent in Telegram appears in every picker on the site; a fixed payment you edit on the site is what the bot reminds you about tonight. Neither surface keeps a private copy, so there is nothing to sync and nothing to fall out of step.

What happens to my data?

It is yours. Everything sits in one Postgres database with row-level security on every table, reachable only through the authenticated API — never from a browser directly. Receipt photographs are served as bytes behind your own login, not from a public URL. Nothing is sold, and nothing is used to train anyone's model.

Can it handle more than one currency?

Yes. Every amount is stored exactly, in its own currency, with that currency's own number of decimal places — so a Japanese yen figure is not silently given two. Reports convert to your main currency, and say that they have.

What is the reward trip?

A break you have actually earned. Over a window you choose — one, two or three months — ShahLUX works out what you brought in minus what you spent, takes a share of it that you set, caps it at half of what your accounts really hold, and then searches the live web for three-day trips that fit inside that number, with real fares and the pages it found them on. A bad two months produces no suggestion at all, which is the point.

Do I need to connect my bank?

No. ShahLUX works entirely from what you tell it — a photograph, a voice note, a typed line — which is why it works in countries where bank aggregation does not. You can record account balances by hand if you want the net-worth view and the reward cap, but nothing requires it.

How do I pay, and what happens to the money?

Through Stripe, with a card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Link, Klarna or Bancontact — whatever your device and country support appears automatically. Everything is charged in euro and settles in euro, so there is never a currency surprise. Card details never touch ShahLUX; changing the card, switching plan, cancelling and downloading invoices all happen in Stripe's own portal.

How do the bot and the website know they are the same account?

A six-digit code that lives for sixty seconds. Ask the site for one and send it to the bot as /link 123456, or ask the bot for one and type it on the site — either direction works. The code is single use, dies after five wrong guesses, and both ends refuse to attach a Telegram account that already belongs to somebody else.
